Just a few words on car parking near the church on the day of the wedding.
The few words are as follows:
Parking in Clifton is difficult. Sometimes a borderline nightmare.
So, whereas there are places you can park on the road in and around the church, you may be better off parking in the Clifton Down Shopping Centre car park. This is only a few minutes walk from the church and may help you arrive at the church without too much stress on trying to find a parking space.

Things To Do In Bristol After A Wedding
Thanks to all of you who have replied to confirm attendance at the wedding and for all the kind words that have been sent our way.
We've finalised how things are going to play out on the day and the afternoon reception is going to finish at around 5pm. Some of you are coming from quite a distance and we figured that you might want to make a day of it and find something to do with the rest of the day in the area.
So, we've come up with a few names and events for you to google and see if they would be places or events you'd be interested in checking out. Everywhere we are recommending is within easy reach of the church:
Places to Eat:
Pizza Provencal, Clifton Village
Numero Uno, Whiteladies Road
Deco Lounge, Cotham Hill
Beijing Bistro, Park Street
Things To Do:
Enjoy view from Clifton Suspension Bridge
Visit the Downs
Go and see Nizlopi in concert at The Thekla, The Grove, East Mud Dock
Walk along Bristol's Floating Harbour
Visit Bristol Cathedral
Catch Hamlet at The Tobacco Factory
There's so much more that Bristol has to offer as well, so if you feel really wild, grab a copy of the Venue magazine when you get here and see what catches your eye.
See you on the 26th.

The Wedding List
For those of you who are especially generous and feel like buying a gift for the wedding, our wedding list is held with Debenhams.
You don't even need to go down to the store and risk getting all confused with the escalators like I frequently do.
You can go to the website www.debenhamsweddings.com where a panel will come up asking for details of the wedding gift list. Our wedding list number is 164198, in the event that you can't remember either of our surnames or the date of the wedding!

Afternoon Reception #2
We've confirmed the second artiste who is going to be playing at our afternoon reception in The Crypt at Woodlands Church.
Bethan Marshall is going to open the show with her set, so to provide you with a little insight into what she does, please find the link to her website below.
http://www.zangproductions.co.uk/bethanmarshall/
There's a few snippets of her own songs on there, which are worth a listen. Bethan is going to be playing a mix of her own stuff as well as five or six covers of songs that are significant to us. That said, most of the stuff Paul listens to is quite depressing, so those of you who know what Rachel likes listening to, that might give you a better guide as to what covers to expect.
So, let's start a game. If you can guess the identity of five of the covers that are going to be played, we'll give you a prize! Post your five suggestions as a comment on this topic and if you get them right we'll get a prize to you after the wedding. And in true BBC 'this is pre-recorded' style, so we cannot be accused of cheating, the list has already gone off to Bethan, so we won't change it just to avoid giving a prize out.
Honest.

Afternoon Reception
We thought long and hard about the wording on the invitations, and wanted to take the chance here to fully explain the delights that will await those of you attending the Afternoon Reception.
Immediately after the service, you are welcome to join us at the church for cream tea, cakes and, excitingly, some top notch entertainment. And I'll be making a speech at some point.
We're delighted to to be able to confirm the identity of the first artiste booked to play at the Afternoon Reception.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you Mr David Scott

Dave was classically trained by leprechauns in the Himalayas. He has recorded over 300 albums. However, a cartel of record company executives has vowed to ensure that these sonic sensations never see the light of day. The reason? They fear all other artists will retire upon hearing Dave's work.
That's right, Dave Scott is downright dangerous.
Ladies, hold onto your wedding hats.

Getting To the Church On Time

Greetings esteemed family and friends...
So, you now have your wedding invitation and are understandably anxious for more vital information about the day.
Our aim is to make sure that all the essential details about our wedding are on this site, so for starters we thought it would be good to let you know how to get to Woodlands Church!
Here are some useful links:
http://www.woodlandschurch.net
The main page of the Woodlands site has a multimap link that you can use to find a map that will explain how to get to the church. If you can't use the link or find it, it's below:

(Apologies, you may have to cut and paste these links into your browser. Blogger and I are falling out today over his refusal to co-operate and provide active hyperlinks direct to these pages)
